What Affects Billboard Price?

Understand the major cost drivers before you ask for a quote.

Billboard pricing is not one flat rate. The price depends on where the board sits, how many people pass it, how visible it is, what format it uses, and how much demand exists for that location during your campaign dates.

Location Sets the Starting Point

Boards on high-demand highways, commuter routes, retail corridors, and destination areas usually cost more because they reach more valuable traffic. A smaller board near the right customer can still outperform a bigger board in the wrong place.

Visibility Changes the Value

Traffic count is only one part of the story. Approach angle, distance from the road, obstructions, speed, lighting, and whether traffic can actually read the message all affect how useful the board is.

Format and Timing Matter

Digital boards often sell in rotating spots, while static boards usually sell in longer campaign periods. Price can also change when demand is high, inventory is scarce, or a buyer needs a specific launch window.

Production Can Be Separate

Static boards may require printing, shipping, installation, and removal. Digital campaigns may avoid physical production, but still need properly sized creative files and approval before launch.
